Written by Brandon Mouw

Foreword by Edmund Huang M.D.

Afterword by Paula M. DeMore JD, LPC, NCC

About this Book:

At the age of just 3-years-old, Brandon Mouw was diagnosed as a Juvenile Type 1 Diabetic. Growing up on an egg farm in California, overcoming family squabbles, becoming a missionary, and learning to overcome his anger with the world for his diagnosis were not the only things that might have slowed Brandon down.
Over his lifetime, he underwent a series of surgeries before he was told a pancreas-only transplant was the only thing that could save his life. Unfortunately, he needed $250,000 to afford it. In this book, you will learn about how Brandon went on to raise a quarter of a million dollars online and lived to not only talk about it but to become an advocate for those facing similar challenges.

About the Author:

Brandon Mouw was just three-years-old when diagnosed as a Juvenile Type 1 Diabetic. His journey with diabetes is a survivor's story. Growing up on a chicken farm, Brandon became a high school social studies teacher and law school graduate before becoming a brittle diabetic. He underwent nine surgeries, lost a kidney, told that death was imminent, and raised the funds to pay for a life-saving pancreas-only transplant. Brandon can be found catching waves in Southern California or hiking with his diabetic alert dog Boone.
